Hi.
Well, about 2-3 years ago my family and I got two leopard geckos that were both male anf female. Last year they had eggs, almost all survived. This year during Winter we noticed the female was getting fat again, but the male was getting VERY skinny. His tail was decreasing, as it was very fat before this. He stopped eating and stopped pooping, and we got worried. So sometime last week we took him to the vet and were told it wasn't a parasite and that it felt like nothing was blocking anything. He gave us mineral oil to feed to him, told us to get insure, and also told us to put him in warm water for 30 minutes every night.
Okay, so, we got a new tank for him and it came with basic needsm and set the tank up. We gave gim his insure, mineral oil, then put him in his new tank. We've done this every night since, and nothing has happened. He's only gotten worse- Sleeping more, tail getting skinnier, still not eating. It doesn't look like he'll make it too his next visit.
We've done everything the vet has told us too. We don't know what to do anymore, seeing what we were told to do isn't working much. As I said, he's just getting worse. He used to be, "Get me out this tank!" Now he barely even moves when I do take him out.
The vet said he should get better, seeing he's reproduced this year. There doesn't look anything wrong with his skin, though he is having more trouble shedding when most of the time he sheds almost perfectly. Basicly: He will not eat (unless it is insure or mineral oil), he's getting skinnier, having trouble shedding, sleeping more, becoming inactive. We don't know what to do anymore.
Any ideas what it is? Have any of your geckos experienced this before, and, if so, what can we do?
Very sick gecko.
